EHT Recpas: Eldorado bounces Bulldogs from EHT

Since 1990, when the Eldorado Holiday Tournament handed out trophies for fifth place finishes, Eldorado has won the award six times.

The Eagles will go for No. 7 Wednesday night when they take on fellow Black Diamond Conference rival at 6 p.m.

Eldorado held off Harrisburg Wednesday morning 65-47 to put themselves in position and in the process, put four players in double figures.

Josh Owens led the charge with 20 points for the Eagles, while Parker Price netted 13. Gage Heath tacked on 12 for EHS and Dylan Henshaw came off the bench to score 11 points.

Harrisburg grabbed a 3-0 lead on a Cameron Ande 3-pointer, but Eldorado went on a 14-2 run in the first quarter and closed out up 16-6.

The Bulldogs got as close as five points in the second quarter on a Ande bucket, making it 20-15, but again, Eldorado was there for the counter and used a 6-0 run and led 32-19 at halftime.

"At halftime, we talked about it, Harrisburg is quick and they are going to try and pick up the pressure and make a run in the third quarter, we can't speed up," EHS head coach Josh Bradley said. "I don't think we did and I thought Josh Owens and Dylan Henshaw kind of showed up and when those two show up with our other three guys, we'll be a tough team."

Ande led Harrisburg with 18 points and was the only Harrisburg player to finish in double figures.

Tevin Godsey and Ross Rider each scored six points, while Myles Crank finished with five points. Chris Allen and Nate Lawrence each finished with four points a piece, while Vaundre McIntosh and Michael Godsey both scored two points.

Harrisburg, who outscored Eldorado 17-18 n the third quarter, was held to 10 in the final eight minutes.

The win also showcased the Eagles' offense after hitting a rut in the second quarter against Hamilton County Tuesday night, where they were outscored 19-2.

"This team has proven it's not bad against man-to-man. We had the lead against Hamilton County Tuesday night when they were playing man-to-man, but the minute a team goes zone, we get very stagnant. We talked about Harrisburg's pressure and if we can handle that, we felt like we could get what we wanted offensively."
