Prep Girls Hoops: Gallatin splits pair of games on hardwood

Gallatin County split a pair of games on the hardwood as the Hawks took down Hardin County 52-12 Wednesday night, after dropping a 54-33 loss to Eldorado Tuesday night.

Against Hardin County, Carly Foster dumped in 34 points, while Kenzie Russell also finished in double figures with 14 points.

Alexa Sauls and Savannah Bickett each had two points for the Hawks.

On Tuesday night against Eldorado, the Eagles jumped out to a 17-9 lead and took a 25-13 lead into the locker room. The Eagles outscored Gallatin County 16-12 in the third, leading 41-25 going into the final eight minutes of action.

Eldorado put four players in double figures as Alexa Haenel led all scorers with 14 points. Karis Lane tacked on 12 points, Adrianna Hendrix tossed in 11 and Lily Mosby finished with 10 points. Kaylee Oglesby chipped in with six points.

Russell led Gallatin County 18 points, while Foster also reached double figures with 13 points, while Jenna Vickery had two points.

Gallatin County is now 5-4 overall and after Wednesday night's win, stand at 1-0 in the Greater Egyptian Conference.
