EHT REWIND: Who Is The Most Impressive Player You've Seen At The EHT?

Between marquee matchups, buzzer beating shots, moments that leave fans sitting on the edge of their bleacher seat, the Eldorado Holiday Tournament always lives up to the hype and expectations.

One more thing the EHT is never short on are ballers who wow the crowd and shine bright in the spotlight.

Over the last 56 years, the EHT has produced an NBA player, a current college coach, a three-time MVP (twice) and a run by a school that had five straight MVP's.

The EHT would have been getting ready to tip off, instead, due to COVID-19, the annual post Christmas event has been postponed.

Now, we look back in five-part series, (this being part two) with the most impressive EHT player as discussed among former players, coaches and some former players that are now coaches.

Next week, we'll have a conversation about the most impressive team in the EHT, what one game stands out and a memory as a fan that has nothing to do with being a player or coach.

Tyrone Nesby from Cairo. He was just such big physical athlete. I remember running around the gym when I was little with my buddies, but when Tyrone Nesby played you found a seat so you could see him play.

- Josh Bradley, Eldorado head coach and former player

I coached him. Brandon Anthony put on a show every time he stepped on to the court at the EHT. He may not have the best numbers in the tournament, but he was "must watch" basketball.

- Sayler Shurtz, Herrin head coach and former Benton player

Most impressive player I saw in the EHT was Aric Holman from Owensboro who went to Mississippi State or Dana Ford when he was at Egyptian.

- Mike Chamness, Anna-Jonesboro head coach and former A-J player

Anthony Webster from Cairo. He was the first big man I saw who could get a rebound and beat everyone up the court on the dribble and finish with a dunk.

- Erik Griffin, former Carrier Mills-Stonefort & SIU standout

Anthony Webster of Cairo. His ability to run the floor like a guard and his presence around the rim defensively to alter and block shots without fouling

- Scott Shreffler, former Carrier Mills-Stonefort player

Reed Jackson. He was a 3x EHT champion and the most fierce competitor, tough, player I ever saw. He was Mr. Hustle.

- Doug Miller, Hamilton County coach (former NCOE, Gallatin Co. coach) & former McLeansboro player

Probably the collection of players Harrisburg had on their state team.

- Scott McElravy, Fairfield head coach

have players - multiple - and probably in this order: Mike Duff (Eldorado), Darrel Anders (Du Quoin), Brian Sloan (McLeansboro) and Anthony Webster/Tyrone Nesby. All those guys were very skilled, very athletic and good careers after high school.

- Randy Smithpeters, Harrisburg coach & former McLeansboro player

I was the most impressive player that I have seen in the EHT. Other than that, it would be Dana Ford.

- John Pruett, Former Massac County player & 1993 EHT MVP

Dana Ford. He played hard and knew how to play the game. He made his teammates better.

- Jake Stewart, Harrisburg girls coach & former HHS player
