DHS boys golf: Indians take third in Benton quad match

The Benton boys' golf team improved to 19-0 on the season, shooting a 146 and knocking off West Frankfort (172), Du Quoin (182) and Herrin (185) in a quad match at Benton Country Club Tuesday afternoon.

Du Quoin was paced by a pair of 42's from Hunter Ridgeway and Caden Hutchens, while Garrick Blevins fired a 45 and Owen Cornett finished with a 53.

Aiden Fields' 58 and Sam Vancil's 62 rounded out the scoring for the Indians.

Benton's Cy Norman captured his 15th career medalist honors by firing a 32, while the Rangers got a trio of 38's from Nick Melvin, Peyton Sieveking and Luke Melvin.

Benton also got a 40 from Andrew Bell and Keaton House finished with a 43.
