Lukens earns Jack Swartz Award at Milikin

Millikin University, in conjunction with the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW), announces its Jack Swartz Award Recipients and the CCIW Academic All-Conference team for Spring season of 2018.

Millikin juniors Luke Azzarelli and Erin Lukens were selected as the Jack Swartz winners for the Spring season.  To be considered as a Swartz Award winner, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.50 grade point average, earned a letter in their varsity sport and made a leadership contribution to their program.

Lukens qualified for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in two events.  She was the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Champion in the Indoor 400 Meters and the Outdoor 400 Meter Hurdles. Lukens excels in the classroom as a Biology (Pre-Physical Therapy) major.

Each season the CCIW selects an Academic All-Conference Team.  To be recognized, the student-athlete must be enrolled as a full-time student; must have earned a letter during the 2018 Spring season; and must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average at the start of their season.  The list below is the team members from Millikin for the Spring 2018 season.

Earlier, Lukens picked up her third letter award from Millikin.

Lukens set three individual records this season in the following races: Indoor 300 Meters (42.26), Indoor 400 Meters (58.32), Outdoor 400 Meter Hurdles (1:01.58) and was part of a 4x100 Relay Team (48.71).
