Janet Kay Fisher, 75, of Du Quoin, passed away at 7:08 a.m. on Monday, May 11, 2020 at her residence.

Janet had been a beautician. She was of the Baptist faith. The most important thing to Janet was being with her family. She loved antiquing, refinishing furniture, and planting flowers. She also loved to cook and make pies.

She was born July 21, 1944 at Du Quoin, the daughter of Lester and Mary (Morris) Fisher.

She was married to Wilkerson Couty and to this union, three children were born.

Janet is survived by two daughters, Rhonda (David) Milleville of Tullahoma, Tennessee and Dawn (Matt) Cheek of Du Quoin; one son, Steven Couty of Enterprise, Alabama; her loving companion, Joe Clayton of Du Quoin; one brother, Allen Fisher of Du Quoin; six grandchildren, Lauren (Milleville) Folkens and husband Arend of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Jordan Milleville (fiancÚ Lacey Nichols) of Louisville, Tennessee, Linnea Cheek (Tony Burk) of St. Louis, Desiree Couty (fiancÚ Brandon Henson) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Sydney Couty of Oldsmar, Florida and Peyton Couty of Pace, Florida; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Nancy Bufford and Linda Hutchings; and one grandchild, Amelia Couty.

Per Janet's request, cremation rites were conducted.

A celebration of life service with family and friends will be held at a later date.

Friends may make memorials in Janet's name to the American Heart Association. These will be accepted at the funeral home.
