Environmental Science Series programs return to Rend Lake this summer

BENTON - After two years of limited public programming due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Rend Lake plans to celebrate Rend Lake's 50th anniversary with a full year of programming.

The Environmental Science Series begins May 28, 2022. These programs will be held every Saturday from May 28 to Sept. 3 in the Rend Lake Visitor Center.

Rend Lake Park Rangers, with the help of special guest presenters, have created a full summer programs to engage both children and adults. The 2022 Environmental Science Series programs are as follows:

May 28: Creatures of Myth and Legend (programs at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m.)

June 4: Hummingbird Banding (11 a.m.-2 p.m.)

June 11: Beach Blast, at South Sandusky Beach (noon to 4 p.m.)

June 18: WOW Science! (programs at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m.)

June 25: Animalogy's Reptiles (programs at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m.)

July 2: Majestic Eagles (programs at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m.)

July 9: Take a "Walk" on the Moon (7:30 to 9:30 p.m.)

July 16: All About Owls (7:30 to 9:30 p.m.)

July 23: Backyard Campout (7:30 to 9:30 p.m.)

July 30: Incredible Bats (7:30 to 9:30 p.m.)

August 6: Nature Craft Day (11 a.m. to 2 p.m.)

August 13: Space Exploration (programs at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m.)
