Dozens march on anniversary of George Floyd's death

  • Organizer Matthew Wilson led a crowd of about 75 demonstrators from Carbondale's Town Square Pavilion to the Public Safety Center and back again on Tuesday, the one-year anniversary of the murder of George Floyd at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer. The march, which was followed by speeches upon the return to the pavilion, capped several days of events organized by Carbondale United, the Women's Center and the Southern Illinois Unity Coalition.
