MARION -- Weather permitting, the new addition to Marion All-Inclusive Playground at Ray Fosse Park should be ready to use before the holidays.
Thanks to the efforts of the Heartland Rotary of Williamson County, the new pavilion, once complete, will include accessible concrete pathways and picnic tables as well as solar lighting.
The project is completely funded, according to Jason Powell, the Assistant Governor for Rotary District 6510, a past president of the Heartland Rotary.
"We applied for a matching grant from Rotary District 6510 and were able to raise the rest," he said. "The project labor is provided by the Park District workers."
Powell said the Hartland Rotary is staying busy with several projects including the annual Christmas food baskets.
"We are currently raising funds for those by selling ribs next week," he said.
