2 Harrisburg men charged in drug sting, officials say

CARRIER MILLS - Two Harrisburg men are facing drug charges after a narcotics investigation earlier this week, officials say.

Roman M. Moore, 25, and Doyle Winston, 41, both were arrested in connection with the investigation on March 3, according to a news release from the Southern Illinois Enforcement Group.

Moore is charged with methamphetamine delivery of 100 to less than 400 grams of meth, a Class X felony, and manufacturing with intent to deliver one to less than 15 grams of cocaine or an analog of cocaine, a Class 1 felony.

He also was charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle, according to court records.

Winston is charged with transportation or possession of alcoholic liquor in a motor vehicle, according to court records.

The investigation led to two traffic stops, as well as a search warrant served at a home on the 400 block of North Thompson Street. At that home, enforcement group agents, with assistance from Illinois State Police, seized about 1.5 kilograms of cocaine, 1.2 pounds of crystal meth, three handguns - two of which were stolen - and $7,760 in cash, the release said.

The drugs have an estimated street value of more than $52,000, according to authorities.

The investigation is ongoing.
