Perry County drug task force makes eight arrests

PINCKNEYVILLE - Perry County Sheriff Steve Bareis said Friday the Perry/Washington Counties Drug Task Force netted eight arrests last week. Most of the investigations were conducted over the last four months by the task force, which is made up of the two sheriff's offices, Du Quoin Police, Pinckneyville Police, and Nashville Police.

Bareis said the drug task force conducted the investigations and that warrants were issued for the arrests. Task force coordinator and Chief Deputy Jamie Ellermeyer said that more arrests will be forthcoming in Perry and Washington counties.

Arrested were the following:

Austin W. Frech, 22, of Du Quoin, charged with one count of unlawful delivery of cannabis (10-30 grams). He was transported to Perry County Jail. Bond was set at $2,000, which he posted and was released. The charge is a Class 4 felony.

Tracy L. Wise, 53, Du Quoin, charged with unlawful delivery of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Wise is being held at the Perry County Jail on $4,000 bond.

Rebecca L. Barnes-Atteberry, 30, Elkville, was charged with one count of distribution of a look-alike substance (Class 3 felony). It is alleged that the suspect delivered the substance believed to be heroin in Perry County. The Jackson County Sheriff's Office assisted with the arrest. Barnes-Atterberry was transported to the Perry County Jail on a $3,000 cash bond.

Lindsay R. Quillman, 27, Pinckneyville, charged with one count of delivery of methamphetamine (Class 2 felony). It is alleged that Quillman delivered meth for sale. She is being held in the Perry County Jail on a $4,000 cash bond.

Michelle L. Bloomfield, 27, Du Quoin, charged with one count of delivery of a controlled substance (cocaine), a Class 2 felony. She is being held in the Perry County Jail on a $4,000 cash bond.

Jack B. Martin, 59, Cutler, and Gregory A. Woods, 53, Du Quoin, charged with possession of meth resulting from traffic stops by the Perry County Sheriff's Office.

There is an active Perry County warrant for Casey L. Vance, 31, Tilden, for two counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance/distribution of a look-alike substance. It is alleged that Vance delivered the look-alike substance in Pinckneyville on two separate occasions. Area residents are asked to contact their local police department if they know Vance's whereabouts.
