Adding to the county's transparency

In recent months, various government watchdog groups have scored counties on how much information and how much transparency is available on their websites.

County Clerk Josh Gross responds, "This was an issue we were aware of in the clerk's office for a while now. Kevin Kern had done a excellent job building the clerk's website and providing important information through that site. Following in Kevin's footsteps I have been working with Craig Williams to add more transparency to the county's business.

"In recent weeks we have added four years of county board agendas, minutes, and budgets. We were also able to add the county ordinance book, schedule of board meetings and a list of all county officials with their contact information. The site is still a work in progress as I will be adding salaries, financial audits, expenditures, and other vital information over the weeks to come. I also will be updating election information and working on adding past election results to the site.

"As you can imagine some of this will require simple steps some will not but eventually this site will be a solid representation of the county and eventually become the Perry County website, not just the clerk's page."
