Man charged with sexual assault
A registered sex-offender was booked into Saline County Jail at 5:15 p.m. Feb. 9 on charges that he invaded the home of his ex-girlfriend and sexually assaulted her.
Michael Irvin, 23, was charged with home invasion, aggravated criminal sexual assault and aggravated battery. He is held on a $50,000 cash bond.
Police believe he broke a window at about 3 a.m. Feb. 9 to enter his ex-girlfriend's home, beat her and sexually assaulted her, according to Harrisburg Police Chief Bob Smith.
He was apprehended at approximately 5 p.m. Feb. 9.
