Mueller Gets 37 Years

Robbie Mueller, 17, was sentenced to 37 years in prison for the 2010 murder of Sidnee Stephens in Perry County Court on Oct. 25.

Mueller was found guilty of first degree murder in a stipulated bench trial Sept. 13.

Carl Dane and James Glazier were also charged in Stephens' murder. Glazier was found guilty in a stipulated bench trial July 31. He was sentenced to 60 years in prison.

Dane pleaded guilty to Stephens' murder in June 2011 and was sentenced to 60 years in prison. He committed suicide in Perry County Jail in August 2011, the night before he was to be transferred to the Illinois Department of Corrections to begin serving his sentence.

Stephens' body was found in the Beaucoup Creek in July 2010. Dane, Glazier and Mueller were arrested within days of the discovery of her body.

Stephens' half-sister Dakota Wall, 20, and Chad Bennett, 22, both of Pinckneyville, were arrested Oct. 5 and face multiple accountability charges in the murder.

Both were charged with accountability on the following charges: first degree murder, aggravated kidnapping, home invasion (two counts), residential burglary, and kidnapping. Bennett also faces an additional accountability charge of concealment of a homicide death.

Perry County Sheriff Keith Kellerman said accountability means the suspects aided, agreed with or attempted to aid in Stephens' murder.
