"This project presented a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate our focus at Heights Finance: people helping people," Tim Stanley, president and CEO of Heights Finance said.
"What a great way to honor those in military service, to honor our 'green' initiatives by proper recycling cell phones, and to provide much-needed support for those injured in combat. It was a win-win team effort."
The phones will be sent to Recellular, which pays anywhere from 50 cents to $150 per phone, depending on type and condition.
The money received from Recellular will then go to USA Cares, a non-profit group that assists service members and their families.
In this case, all of the funds raised will benefit USA Cares' "Combat Injured Program," which assists those suffering traumatic brain injury or post traumatic stress disorder.
