HHS earns four top-10 finishes at SIU Invite
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Harrisburg High School boys track and field team earned four top-10 finishes Saturday as it opened its season at Southern Illinois University.
John David Rollins finished second in the long jump and fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.86 seconds. Josh Reed jumped 12-feet, 6-inches for a sixth place finish in the pole vault, while teammate Tyler Tuttle finished with a personal best finish in the pole vault that measured 11-feet, 6-inches.
Ethan Alexander capped a strong day at the track for the Bulldogs with a 10th place finish in the 400 meter dash, finishing in 53.90 seconds.
The indoor featured more than 700 student-athletes from 44 different schools.
"With this being the first ever indoor meet for most of our team, we approached the meet as an opportunity to get individual times, performances and valuable experience for our young team," coach Chris Berry said. "All our athletes competed hard and we left the SIU Recreation Center with a positive feeling of accomplishment."
Harrisburg returns to action on March 20 when it travels to Eastern Illinois University for an indoor meet.
