Eagles swept in weekend action
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Eldorado boys' basketball team dropped a pair of game's this weekend, losing Friday to Fairfield 75-55 and then falling to Massac County on Saturday 82-45.
In the loss to the Patriots, Dakota Prather and Joel Boulds each had 10 points for EHS, who are now 10-16 on the season.
Trey Sigler had nine points for the Eagles, while Brennan Unthank finished with four points. Devin Aldridge also had four points, while Justin Wiseman tacked on three, as did Eric Emery and Tyler Deaton had two points.
In the Eagles' lost to Fairfield, Aldridge led Eldorado in scoring with 15 points in the loss.
Again, Sigler had nine points, while Dylan Street added eight points. Unthank chipped in with seven points. Deaton finished with five points, while Boulds and Prather each had four points. Dylan Lawrence tacked on two points and Wiseman added a free throw.
Eldorado is now 2-5 in the Black Diamond Conference East and will play at Carmi-White County Tuesday, at Johnston City Friday and at Christopher Saturday.

Meridian took down Gallatin County, 88-51, Saturday night in the final game of the SEC/GEC Shootout at Southeastern Illinois College. The state-ranked Bobcats earned the only win of the day for the SEC and improved to 20-2 in the process.
Meridian led 48-25 at halftime and had four players in double figures.
Andrew Drone had 19 points for the Hawks in the losing effort. Senior Bryant Aud was also in double figues as he knocked down six 3-pointers for 18 points.
