Joseph E. Baldwin, 30, and Michelle M. Baldwin, 23, pled guilty to unlawful possession of methamphetamine manufacturing material.

Judge Walden E. Morris sentenced Joseph Baldwin to nine years in the Illinois Department of Corrections Tuesday and Michelle Baldwin was sentenced to three years Nov. 2.

The pair were discovered Sept. 28 with iodized salt, coffee filters, lithium batteries and cold compresses in their vehicle after police received a tip from Wal-Mart that the two had purchased the suspicious materials. After being pulled over by police for failure to use a turn signal, it was revealed the items were going to be used to make methamphetamine later that day in Eldorado.

Assistant State's Attorney Jason A. Olson headed the prosecution of the Baldwins, which led to their sentences Tuesday.
