Several school districts had contested races
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Three of the four county school boards had contested races Tuesday.
In the Harrisburg School Distirct, Matt Winkleman and Dean West both won full terms on the board, with 1,388 and 1,174 votes respectively. They defeated Michael Stewart and Brent Stanley, who received 641 and 580 votes.
Winkleman was appointed to the board last year to replace Judy Cape, who resigned before her term expired. West was appointed to replace Todd Fort, the former school board president facing numerous charges of sexual misconduct with a girl under his supervision at the Saline County Sheriff's Department, where he served as chief deputy.
West, however, did not run for Fort's unexpired term, choosing instead to seek a four-year term.
Molly Wilson Dearing won the unexpired term by defeating Ryan Lambert and Kenneth "Pete" Smith. Dearing received 840 votes, Lambert got 738 votes and Smith got 487 votes.
Scott Berry was unopposed in his bid for another term from the congressional townships that do not include the city of Harrisburg.
In the Eldorado School District, Jason Kasiar rolled to victory along with Stacy James, with 859 votes and 765 votes respectively. They outdistanced Reggie Cook with 338 votes, Kreig Taylor with 276 votes and Paul Herrmann with 255 votes. Kasiar and James were elected from the congressional township that includes Eldorado.
Preston Justice defeated Ryan Harbison 766 to 543 in the remaining congressional townships of the Eldorado School District.
In the Galatia School District, Bill Oglesby received 176 votes, Eric Davis received 159 votes and Jason Blackburn received 146 votes to be elected to the board. Cheryl Beers Stallings got 132 votes and Rebecca Bridewill got 99 votes to round out the field.
In the Carrier Mills-Stonefort School District, the candidates were unopposed. Sherryl Case, John Whiting, William Clay Nolen and Beth Thomason will serve four-year terms.
Frank Barbre and Charles Hearn won new terms to the SIC Board of Trustees.
