Man accused of anhydrous tampering
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Saline County Sheriff's Deputies arrested a New Burnside man accused of tampering with an anhydrous ammonia tank in rural Galatia.
Deputies arrested Michael Nathan Craig, 25, 585 Birdwall Road, New Burnside, 2:50 a.m. Jan. 27 on charges of tampering with anhydrous ammonia equipment and criminal trespass to property. He remains held at the Saline County Detention Center awaiting a court appearance.
Deputies Jerod Campbell and David Blazier were watching the anhydrous tanks of Brown Fertilizer and Company on Hamburg Road, saw a van drive to the road, stop and a man with a fire extinguisher jump out and approach the tanks, according to a sheriff's report.
Deputies observed as white mist exited one of the tanks and approached.
The man, later identified as Craig, fled on foot before deputies caught him and took him into custody.
