The fireworks display will begin about dark, but people should come out earlier for other festivities, Mike Sullivan of the Town and Country Lions Club said.
DJ Eric Gregg will play tunes for a couple hours prior to the fireworks display and there will be several concessions set up at the Fairgrounds, Sullivan said.
The gates will be open all day, Sullivan said.
"We want people to come out and spend the day with us. We'll be out there all day," Sullivan said.
The fireworks will be set up in the morning; a couple practice shots will probably be launched in the afternoon, Sullivan said.
The Lions Club is working on an all-day event for next year. Concessions all day, games for kids and contests are possibilities, Sullivan said.
"We'll be taking suggestions on how we can make it bigger and better next year," Sullivan said.
"If anybody has any suggestions, we'll be around."
Sullivan thanked the Harrisburg police and fire departments for their participation in making the Independence Day celebration come together.
"Come on out, have fun and spend the day with us," Sullivan said.
