The TEA Party will be held 10 a.m. at the Harrisburg Township Park bandstand.

Organizers of the local TEA Party reported good turnout for the April event.

"The TEA party is a small piece of a much larger national movement aimed at restoring the basic free-market principles on which our country was established," according to a news release from TEA Party organizers.

"This is not a Democrat nor a Republican initiative but a grassroots, collaborative volunteer organization made up of everyday citizens from across the country -- a 50-state network. This is an American issue."

TEA party organizers want to let government officials know they are concerned about several issues, including government spending and what they see as encroaching socialism, according to the news release.

The national TEA Party movement originated earlier this year with conservative commentator Glenn Beck.
