</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Eldorado school board made several last minute personnel moves during Thursday night's meeting.

The board approved leaves of absence for three staff members, teacher Janice Cantrell, aide Kristin Stevens and teacher Kelly Brockett.

Two teachers resigned. Spanish teacher Ivania Daniels has taken a position with the Harrisburg school system and middle school teacher Brad Goodley has taken a teaching job in Massac County.

The board officially hired Chad Albers as middle school baseball coach. Albers has already been working with the players.

The board hired Larry Matt Allen as a teacher this year and hired Gloria Boatright, Vern Pollack and Terry Seagraves all for the first nine weeks of school. Pollack and Seagraves are hired to teach driver's education to a large number of students taking the class.

The board hired Wendy Kmucha to serve as high school assistant principal for 60 days with Beth Tierney serving in that position the other 120 days.

Traci Sizemore will be an aide at the elementary school using the Auto Skills computer program to help pupils with math and reading, the board voted.

Curtis Burkow was hired by the board to give music lessons for 60 days as the district builds its music program back up.

The board put agriculture teacher and Future Farmers of America sponsor Bill Kittinger on a 10 month contract, reduced Kittinger's summer pay and eliminated one FFA stipend.

The board approved a resolution authorizing a notice to remedy to middle school teacher Dan Loudy.

The board heard the second reading and approved adopting the change to the student drug testing policy to encompass students who driver to school. Siebert said there has been some confusion. Students who drive to school receive a permit with a number on it, but that number is not intended to coincide with the number on the parking spaces.

Siebert said it is up to the board to determine how often the testing will be done. Tierney said the high school tested athletes three times last year.

Siebert said the testing schedule could be determined in part on rumors of drug use among students.

The board is putting up for bid three school buses, a GMC 1990 Bluebird 65 passenger, Chevrolet 1990 Bluebird 65 passenger and GMC 1995 Bluebird 65 passenger with no motor in it.
