Man injured in car fire

Harrisburg firefighters extinguished a car fire that injured the occupant Sunday morning.

Firefighters responded at 5:41 a.m. to a brush fire in a ditch at 1112 W. Poplar St. near the soccer field. On arriving they discovered the fire was caused by a car that was in the ditch and the car was heavily damaged by fire, according to the fire report.

The occupant, Christopher Wilson of Harrisburg, was found later in the park with burns on his shoulders and the back of his head, Chief Bill Summers said.

Firefighters cleared the scene at 6:21 a.m.
