Late Herrin artist to have oil paintings featured at auction
The entire inventory of oil paintings by the late Johnnie B. Hennig has been made available to the public through a silent auction at Hartley Art Gallery in Herrin. Hennig (1906-2003) was the wife of Dr. Ernst Hennig, a physician and surgeon who practiced in Herrin for 47 years.

'CATS' will take stage this weekend in Marion
Tickets for the show are $15 apiece for all seats and for all times on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Curtain times in the evening performances are 7:30, and the Sunday matinee is set for 2 p.m.

SIC theater alumni celebrate 20 years of summer shows
HARRISBURG -- Summer theater director Hannah Drake said she was able to participate as a very young child in Southeastern Illinois College's Junior Falcons first summer show in 1997. "I was just a wee little fifth grader," she told the audience Friday night, prior to a theater alumni version of "Seussical."
