Z-factor nearly ready for opening

As construction continues, the owner and staff of Z-Factor have made amazing strides in preparation of their January opening.

Marketing Director Amy Craig is super excited about the progress the construction and assembly crews are making with the new Harrisburg business.

"We already have people asking about us as far away as Carbondale," Craig said. "There are a lot of places that provide one or two of the services we offer, but we have a one stop shop."

The 30,000 square foot operation's two main indoor activities include a 12,000 square foot trampoline area and a 3,800 square foot synthetic ice-skating rink.

A paintball area that includes a 7,000 square foot outdoor paintball field used in the warmer months, and an indoor paintball shooting gallery so players can stay on their game during the winter season, as well as its own private party room.

The operation, originally slated to open before the end of December, met with a few shipping delays and construction snags, so staff moved the opening date to sometime in mid-January.

The business has already been getting calls for church youth-groups, after proms, and private get-togethers.

The trampoline area alone provides volleyball, dodgeball, basketball and foam pit play. For those parents with small children, a smaller, more kid friendly area will keep them away from the rougher play.

"We want to plan teen parties and events, so we can do our part to keep them active and off the streets," Craig said.

Staff also will make mentors available groups of kids, 15 or less, to supervise and monitor safety. Other safety measures include armbands, door monitoring and restricted access to patrons who choose to enjoy the bar area.

"Once they have a drink, they are done," Craig said. "No one can drink and use the equipment."

The adult area will also house a "theater room," with a projection screen for viewing sports events and other programming.
