Aurora police issue coyote warning after biting

Aurora spokesman Dan Ferrelli on Monday said the city sent hundreds of fliers to residents in the area after investigators determined the animal involved in the attack was likely a coyote.

Ferrelli says the 47-year-old Aurora man called 911 after he was bitten on the arm and scratched on April 20. He wasn't seriously injured.

The animal ran off, and city employees couldn't find it.

Aurora is getting more calls about coyote sightings, but Ferrelli says this is the first attack that's been reported. He says coyote attacks on humans are extremely rare.
