Bulldog girls beat out Carmi

Harrisburg boys finish middle of pack

Jessa Handwerk turned in one of her best scores of the season and it helped propel the Harrisburg girls' golf team to a 185-188 victory over Carmi Wednesday afternoon.

On the boys' side, Harrisburg shot a 181, finishing second to Carmi (153) and ahead of NCOE (217).

To go along with Handwerk's 39, Paige Haney shot a 45, while Chelsea Gulley put together a round of 46. Michaela King fired a 55 and Meredith Wolf rounded out the scoring with a 70.

Alexander Tison led the Harrisburg boys with a 43. Garrett Smith wasn't far behind and followed suit with a 44. Caleb Bartok shot a 46 and Remington Isaacs fired a 48. Rounding out the scoring for the Bulldogs was Josh Betts' 50 and Aaron Head's 59.

The Bulldogs are slated to compete today at Crab Orchard Golf Course in Carterville in a triangular match.
