Bulldogs run wild on Mt. Carmel

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Dylan Hathaway, Philip West and Justin Younger found the endzone for Harrisburg a couple of times Monday night as the Bulldog sophomore football team rolled Mt. Carmel 42-6 in the season opener for both squads.

Hathaway scored the game&#39;s first touchdown for the Bulldogs (0-1) when he found paydirt from four yards out. the TD was set up by a 25-yard Ryne Roper pass to Gabe Oglesby.

Harrisburg closed out the first quarter when Younger ripped off a 70-yard run and Hathaway added the two-point conversion for a 14-0 lead.

With 8:09 left to play in the second quarter, West scored from 28 yards out and Younger added the two-point conversion try to put the Bulldogs up 22-0.

Mt. Carmel (0-1) only score of the game came with 5:32 left to play before halftime when they scored from 40 yards out.

Younger added his second touchdown of the game with 4:11 left to play in the second quarter when he scored from two yards out.

In the third quarter, West added a 31-yard touchdown run, while Roper connected with Dakota Upchurch for the two-point conversion and Hathaway added a five-yard run for a score.

In the fourth quarter, Dylan Yates and Oglebsy each added a fumble recovery.

"Offensively, we played really well and I thought our backs ran pretty hard," said head coach Kyle McGowan. "Defensively, we played well. A few times we broke down on assignments, but that&#39;s going to happen. For our first game, I thought we played really well and we just look to improve each week."
