Things started well enough for the Eldorado High School boys baseball team on Friday.

The Eagles drew first blood against rival Hamilton County behind the strength of a first-inning Devin Aldridge home run.

However, things did not end well for the home team as the Hamilton County Foxes scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the second to get on the board.

The visitors would continue to strike over the next three innings, scoring five in the third and pushing across five more runs across the fourth and fifth innings in a 12-1 victory for the Foxes.

"We were extremely inconsistent," coach Billy Tippett said.
Brennan Unthank went 2-for-3, Dustin Bramlet went 1-for-2 and Nick Houseright added a hit in three at bats.

But while Eldorado's first four hitters combined to go 5-for-11, the rest of the line-up only collected one hit in 12 at bats.

The loss dropped the Eagles' record in Black Diamond Conference play to 5-3 and will host Fairfield on Tuesday at the Eldorado Sports Complex.
