Both pitchers, Jared Hunt (10-0) in baseball and Brittney Wead (9-0) in softball, threw two-hitters in picking up the wins.

Hunt struck out nine and walked one, while Wead fanned eight and gave up four walks.

Ryne Johnson blasted a first-inning grand slam for the Hawks (4-1) who added three runs in the third and fifth to end the game via the 10-run slaughter rule.

Mike Abell had three hits as did Brody Lowery (two-run homer).

Wead was 3-for-3 for the Lady Hawks (2-1) and Kasey Glover also had three hits and blasted an inside-the-park homer in the second inning.

Gallatin's baseball team is slated to play at Harrisburg today, and the Lady Hawks are to play at Carmi-White County this afternoon, weather permitting in both cases.
