After two losses to outstanding teams on the road, the John A. Logan men will host Southwest Tennessee on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the home opener. The Logan women's team will play Jefferson at 5 p.m.
"You never want to lose, but the two games in Iowa will help us get better," said Logan coach Kyle Smithpeters. "We showed improvement in the Indian Hills game after losing the opener to Otero of Colorado. It is just November and we have plenty of room for improvement."
After losing to Otero, 87-79, in the opening game of the Reed Door Classic in Ottumwa, IA, the Volunteers battled host Indian Hills on even terms before losing 72-63. Indian Hills is 2-0 and ranked sixth nationally. The Warriors were led by Tyon Grant-Foster with 24 points. He is committed to Kansas for next season and coach Bill Self was in attendance at the game.
Logan was led by Jalen Johnson with 14 points, Eric Boone had 13 and Jay Scrubb and Mark Lancaster each had 12.
Southwest Tennessee is 1-1 with a win over Shawnee and a loss to Vincennes.
