Eldorado takes championship at Carrier Mills Tournament

The Eldorado volleyball team beat Galatia (25-15, 25-15), Carrier Mills (24-16, 25-20, 15-9) and Crab Orchard (26-28, 25-20, 15-9) for the championship of the Carrier Mills-Stonefort Tournament over the weekend.

"The girls played well as a team and different players would lift the team at different times," EHS head coach Lisa Craig said. "They never gave up when we would get behind."

Lauryn Hampton lead the team in serves for the three games, going 32-34 serves with 35 points, while Kynzie Sizemore, Emma Wargel, Lily Mosby and Karis Lane all had great net games in the three matches.

Wargel had 15 kills for the day, while Sizemore finished with 13 kills, Lane netted nine kills and Mosby had five kills.  Paige Munds led the Eagles in sets with 70 total on the day and Lexi Mitchell lead the defense with 56 digs.

<b>Eagles fall at home to Carrier Mills</b>

Eldorado was swept in straight sets, losing to Carrier Mills-Stonefort 25-19 and 25-17 Monday night.

Munds had 21 sets and 15 digs, while Wargel had 11 spikes with six kills and went 9-9 on serves with nine points, four blocks and two kills. Mitchell had 19 digs and Sizemore had three spikes with one kill.

The EHS junior varsity team won in three games.
