Harrisburg comes home with handful of top finishes

Summer Sanders, Lauryn Gribble and Desiree Nelson each had a second place for Harrisburg at its own Harrisburg Open last week.

Sanders, a junior, finished the 800 meters in a time of 2:37 for a second place finish, while Gribble turned in a time of 1:05 in the 400 meters for second place. Nelson went 30-feet-11.5 in the triple jump for the other second place finish for the Bulldogs.

Victoria Thai went 15-feet in the long jump for a third place finish, while Gribble cleared 7-foot in the pole vault for another third place ribbon. Makenna Moss had a toss of 80-feet-11.5 in the discus, while the 1600 meter relay team of Gribble, Sanders, Nelson and Thai finished third with a time of 4:40.

In the 300 hurdles, Nelson was fourth with a time of 54.6. In the 200 meter dash, Moss turned in a time of 30.34. In the 1600 meters, Emily Jefferies had a time of 7:40. And in the 100 yard dash, Thai (13.2) and Moss (13.25) and Trinity Morrow (16.4) competed. Autumn Rain Harrawood went 4-feet-4 in the high jump.
