Eagles get revenge on CWC

Eldorado scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning and broke a 3-3 tie to beat Carmi-White County 5-3 Thursday afternoon.

Eldorado scored two runs in the top of the seventh when Nolan Milligan doubled to score Bryant Byrd, who roped a one-out double as well. That followed a Braden Unthank walk that set up a Dalton White sacrifice-bunt that resulted in a throwing error to load the bases and Trevor Milligan reached on an error, scoring Nolan Milligan for the insurance run.

Bryant Byrd picked up the win on the mound, going 5.1 innings and striking out 10. Byrd gave up three runs on six hits and was replaced by Joe Mayberry, who struck out four and walked one over 1.2 innings.

At the dish, the Eagles outhit Carmi-White county 9-6 and Byrd was 4-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Nolan Milligan went 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Joe Mayberry and Hunter Sizemore each had one hit and a run scored.

Eldorado is 3-8 overall and are now 1-1 in Black Diamond Conference play.

<b>Carrier Mills-Stonefort 11, Crab Orchard 1</b>

Caden Van Meter got the win on the mound, going seven innings and allowing one run on three hits, while striking out seven and walking one.

The Wildcats cranked out 16 hits on the day as Rostin Lewis and Van Meter each went 3-for-5. Jeremy Choat was 4-for-5, while Trenton Winchester finished 2-for-5 with three RBI. Shawn Rambert was 1-for-3 with a pair of RBI.

<b>Benton 2, Harrisburg 1</b>

Benton's Reid Baumgarte went the distance in a 2-1 win for the Rangers Thursday at Jay Thompson Field.

The Benton freshman allowed just two hits and one run, while striking out seven and walking one.

Noah Boon took the loss for Harrisburg, going 6.1 innings and scattered three hits on two runs (none earned) while striking out seven and walking six.

Harrisburg scored its only run in the bottom of the first inning when Jack Martin tripled, scoring Andrew Bittle, who was pinch running for Issac Crabb.

Both of Harrisburg's hits were from Martin, who went 2-for-3 with the lone RBI.

Benton's three hits came from Kanon Cantrell, Brady Gischer and Kael Pearce. Jon Tate and Blake Stewart each scored a run, while Dillon Poe and Tyler Butler finished with an RBI.

<b>Hardin County 7, Galatia 0</b>

Braxton Lane was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles as Galatia was shut out by Hardin County 7-0 in Greater Egyptian Conference Action Thursday.
