'Dogs take down Massac County

Harrisburg banged out 10 hits and rebounded from Monday's SIRR Ohio loss by beating Massac County 10-2 Tuesday afternoon.

The Bulldogs jumped on Jase Mizell, as the senior gave up 10 runs (eight earned) on 10 hits, while striking out four and walking six.

Jack Martin picked up the win for Harrisburg as he allowed two runs on five hits, striking out six. Connor Phalin came on in relief and struck out four, while scattering two hits.

At the plate, Javie Beal went 3-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored. Will Gibbs and Drew Fromm each went 2-for-4. Fromm drove in one run and scored two runs, while Gibbs scored one run. Isaac Crabb, Jacob Penrod and Phalin all had one hit and one RBI.

Noah Boon finished with one run scored and an RBI and Brandon Banks scored a run as well.

<b>Gallatin County 13, Crab Orchard 0</b>

Gallatin County's offense was efficient as the Hawks scored 13 runs on 14 hits in shutting out Crab Orchard 13-0 Tuesday.

Drake Scherrer was 3-for-3 with an RBI and run scored, while Audie Goebel and Wyatt Downen were both 3-for-4. Goebel drove in a game-high five runs and scored one run, while Downen scored four runs and finished with an RBI.

Robbie Prince, Grant Bosaw, Garrett Rushing, Brock Seely and Jon Cox all had one hit. Brock Seely had two RBI, while Prince, Bosaw and Rushing all drove in one run. Prince and Rushing, along with Blake Seely scored one run.

Rushing picked up the win on the mound, striking out four and walking two. Prince worked one inning of relief work, striking out two and Cox pitched two innings, striking out five and giving up one hit.

<b>Carmi-White County 4, Eldorado 3</b>

Eldorado's rally fell one run short in a 4-3 loss to Carmi-White County Tuesday afternoon.

The Eagles scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, but dropped to 0-1 in Black Diamond Conference play.

Bryant Byrd led off with a walk and then Nolan Milligan flied out for the first out. Braden Unthank was then hit by a pitch and that followed Dalton White reaching on an error to score Byrd and Unthank. Trevor Milligan came up with a single that scored White for the third run. Eli Ralston grounded out, which followed an Ezra Burtis single and Joe Mayberry walked to load the bases and Hunter Sizemore struck out looking to end the threat.

Eldorado was limited to just three hits on the day as Joe Mayberry, Trevor Milligan and Ezra Burtis all went 1-for-3. Milligan and Burtis both had a RBI and Bryant Byrd, Braden Unthank and Dalton White all scored one run.

On the mound, Unthank took the loss, giving up four runs on six hits, while striking out nine and walking two. Mayberry came on in relief striking out two.

<b>Pope County 11, Carrier Mills-Stonefort 3</b>

Pope County scored early and often in an 11-3 win over Carrier Mills-Stonefort Tuesday.

The Pirates put up one run in the first inning and two runs in the second inning. Pope County then scored four runs in the fourth, followed by a run in the fifth and three runs in the sixth.

Carrier Mills-Stonefort was held scoreless through three innings, before the Wildcats plated a run in the fourth and fifth inning and then one run in the seventh inning.

In the fourth, Trent Winchester doubled to score Brandon Hambleton, who also doubled and in the fifth, Rostin Lewis doubled and later scored on a wild pitch. In the seventh, Lewis doubled and scored on a sacrifice-fly by Colton Betz.

Betz took the loss, going six inning and allowing five earned runs. Betz struck out three and hit one batter.
