Hawks fly high in win over Carmi

A seven run sixth inning broke the game open for Gallatin County in a 13-8 win over Carmi-White County Monday afternoon.

Wyatt Downen and Grant Bosaw both had three hits, while Downen had a co-team high three RBI and scored one run. Bosaw had a co-team-high three runs scored.

Robbie Prince was 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored, while Brock Seely was 1-for-3 with three RBI and a run scored. Audie Goebel, Garrett Rushing and Drake Scherrer all had one hit, while Goebel drove in two runs and scored three runs. Rushing and Scherrer both scored one run, while Scherrer also had an RBI. Dustin Drone also scored a run.

Audie Goebel got the win in relief on the mound, coming on in relief. Goebel went 1 2/3, allowing one hit, while striking out two.

Blake Seely got the start, going 5 1/3 and allowing seven runs (three earned) on seven hits, while striking out five and walking one. Garrett Rushing relieved Seely, giving up one run on two hits.

Gallatin was scheduled to play NCOE Tuesday and will be at Galatia Thursday. The Hawks close out their week hosting Massac County on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
