Bulldogs split over weekend

Harrisburg picked up its first win since the Eldorado Holiday Tournament, beating Anna-Jonesboro 53-48 Saturday at the Rich Herrin Classic at Benton High School Saturday morning.

In the win over A-J, Andrew Bittle had a team-high 15 points and was one of three other Bulldogs to finish in double figures.

Zayne Hayes tacked on 13 points, while Will Sanders scored 12 points and Will Gibbs tacked on 11 points. Darion Barners also scored, tossing in two points.

In the 74-56 loss to Massac County on Friday night, Sanders and Gibbs each had team-high 12 points, while Barners tossed in 11 as all three finished in double figures.

Connor Phalin scored seven points, while Jesse Lawler and Bittle each chipped in with six points. Hayes tossed in two points.

<b>Gallatin County Wrapup</b>

Gallatin County picked up a Friday night win, beating Galatia 59-37 and then turned the trick again notching a non-conference win over Hamilton County and former head coach Doug Miller, winning 64-45.

In the win over Galatia, Dawson Hish had a game-high 22 points, while Audie Goebel also finished in double figures with including a game-high 20 points from Hish.

Goebel scored 17 points for Gallatin County, while Prince dropped 14 points.

Gunnar Wilson scored six points, while Lucas Reeder and Rushing each tacked on three points. Henson dropped a free throw.

<b>Eldorado Wrapup</b>

Eldorado wrapped up its week with a pair of losses, losing 77-55 to Fairfield Friday night and falling to Murphysboro on Tuesday night 49-41 in overtime.

Against Fairfield, Joe Mayberry had a team-high 16 points, while L. Shewmaker also finished in double figures with 14 points.

Aiden Whitlock netted nine points in the loss, while Townsend Barton scored six points. Nolan Milligan and Jace Jenkins each finished with four points, while Bryant Byrd tacked on two points.

In the loss to the Red Devils, Mayberry was the lone Eagle to score in double figures, scoring 17 points.

Shewmaker added eight points for EHS, while Whitlock scored six points. Byrd finished with four points, while Milligan, Jenkins and Barton all had two points.
