Harrisburg, Eldorado pick up splits at Christmas Tournaments

After suffering a 10-point, 44-34 loss to Hamilton County, their second loss of the season, Harrisburg rebounded to beat Union County, Ky., 56-35 Thursday night at the Benton Christmas Tournament.

The win over Union County, Ky., was highlighted by a game-high 19 points from Karsyn Davis, which put the Harrisburg senior over the 1,000th point mark.

Davis went 8-for-19 shooting on the night, knocking down 3-of-7 3-pointers and pulled down a team-high nine rebounds.

Madeline Rider also finished in double figures for Harrisburg, finishing with 13 points, while Essence Sanders added eight points. Brook Meylor scored seven points, while Alli Ferrell finished with five points. Lauryn Gribble and Summer Sanders both scored two points.

In the loss to Hamilton County, Harrisburg got 12 points from Meylor and eight points from Rider, while Davis scored seven points, Summer Sanders finished with four points and Essence Sanders tacked on three points.

Eldorado goes 2-2 at Merry Mule Tournament

Eldorado matched Wednesday's performance at the Merry Mule with another split Thursday in Fairfield.

The Eagles beat Lawrenceville 56-52 and lost to Carmi-White County 43--33.

In the Lawrenceville win, Munds was one of four players to finish in double figures as she dropped a team-high 14 points. Lacey Hobbs tacked on 12 in the win for EHS, while Mitchell and Wargel both scored 11 points. Mosby added eight points for the Eagles.

In the loss, Lexie Mitchell paced the Eagles with 11 points, while Lily Mosby tacked on 10 points. Paige Munds added eight points and Emma Wargel finished with four points.

On Wednesday, Eldorado beat Wayne City 55-45 and lost to Flora 61-46.

In the win over Wayne City, Hise and Mitchell scored a co-team-high 16 points, while Hobbs tacked on 10 points.

Wargel netted nine points, while Munds and Mosby each finished with two points.

In the loss to Flora, Mitchell led all Eagles players with 13 points, while Mosby tacked on 10 to finish in double figures.

Hobbs scored nine points, while Hise added eight points. Munds finished with four and Wargel tossed in two points.

Mitchell was named to the All-Tournament team.
