Behind Davis' 20 points, Harrisburg gets by Gallatin Co.

Karsyn Davis scored a game-high 20 points as Harrisburg rolled to a 54-17 win over Gallatin County Tuesday night in the home opener for the Bulldogs.

Essence Sanders netted nine in the win for Harrisburg (1-0), while Summer Sanders scored seven points. Madeline Rider chipped in with six points, while Ivy Brown finished with four points. Lauryn McDaniel, Lauren Gribble, Alli Ferrell and Brooke Meylor all had two points for the Bulldogs.

Megan Morgan had a team-high five points for Gallatin County, while Audrey Jackson and MaKenzie Russell finished with four points. Hallie Zirkelbach and Gracie Sauls both had two points for the Hawks.

Harrisburg shot 35 percent from the field, going 20-for-57, while knocking down 6-of-23 3-pointers and went 8-for-11 at the free throw line.

Gallatin County (0-2) went 5-for-25 from the field and were 1-of-14 from 3-point range. The Hawks were 2-for-2 from the free throw line.

The Bulldogs had 10 turnovers on the night and outrebounded Gallatin County 28-23.

Harrisburg's game with Mt. Vernon on Thursday was postponed due to snow. The Bulldogs will open up play in their own Harrisburg Invitational on Monday night against West Frankfort at 7:30 p.m.

Gallatin County will play Edwards County at 7 p.m. in the Hamilton County Invitational.
