EHS gets by Gallatin Co. in three sets

The Eldorado High School volleyball team went the distance wtih Galatin County on Monday night, winning in three sets.

The Eagles took the first match 25-12, but dropped the second 25-22 and then rallied for the win in match three, 25-13.

EHS head coach Lisa Craigh said her squad got down in the second game, but came out in the third game and played really well.

"We made a run at them, but lost the set," Craig said of match No. 2. "We served well, only missing three serves in the match and finishing with eight aces. Briley Lenkaitis, Emma Wargel, Jade Hise and Kynzie Sizemore had a good game at the net and Lauryn Hampton and Paige Munds led us in sets."

Lenkaitis was 17-17 on spikes with three kills and went 15-15 on serves with 15 points and 31 digs. Wargel went 23-24 on spikes with nine kills and was 12-13 serving with 13 points. Hampton was 29-32 on sets and went a perfect 12-12 on serves with 13 points. Hise was 11-14 on spikes with two kills, while going 13-13 on serves with 10 points. Munds was 22-23 on sets, while going 12-12 on serves with 12 points and 21 digs.

Kyla Pilkington was 6-8 on serves and had eight points on the ight, while Kynzie Sizemore was 15-17 on spikes with three kills. Kiana Roberts had 18 digs and Lexie Mitchell had 15 digs. Lacey Hobbs finished with a spike and a set.

The EHS JV team won 25-20, 18-25 and 15-13. The Eagles were scheduled to play at Carmi-White County Tuesday and were slated to host Fairfield on Thursday.
