MARION -- The Marion High School boys soccer team ended its scoring drought and losing streak with a 6-0 win over Massac County on Monday night at Wildcat Stadium.

Marion's record moved to now 3-6-2 with the win.

The Wildcats hadn't scored in their previous three matches against Jackson (Mo.), O'Fallon and Belleville Althoff, but ended that stretch on a goal by Brockton Powell in the seventh minute Monday night.

Tyson Stoecklin gave Marion a 2-0 lead and it was 3-0 at hafltime after a goal by Zach Underwood assisted by Junah McPhail.

In the second half, Powell scored on a penalty kick 10 minutes in and later goals from Hamzah Baker and Stoecklin extended the lead. Powell was credited with an assist on Stoecklin's goal.

Camden Dodds was in goal for the shutout and made four saves.

Marion is scheduled to play at Centralia on Tuesday. The Wildcats are home again Thursday to face rival Carbondale at Wildcat Stadium.
