Eagles drop a pair at NCOE Invite

At the Norris City-Omaha-Enfield Invitational Wednesday night, Eldorado fell to Carmi-White County in straight sets the first game, 25-21 and 25-22 and then lost to Hamilton County 25-12 and 25-20.

In the loss to Carmi-White County, Emma Wargel and Briley Lenkaitis both had good games at the net, while Lexi Mitchell and Wargel led the Eagles in serving.

Lenkaitis was 8-10 on spikes with two kills and went 5-5 on serves with five points and 11 digs. Wargel was 8-11 on spikes and 9-9 on serves with 10 points and three blocks. Mitchell finished 7-8 on sets and was 6-7 on serves with seven points and eight digs.

Lauryn Hampton was 8-8 on sets and 6-7 on serves with seven points, while Jade Hise was 4-6 on spikes with one kill and 2-3 on serves with three points and nine digs.

Kianna Roberts had 10 digs, while Kayla Pilkington finished with seven digs. Lacey Hobbs was 6-6 on spikes with two kills and 2-2 with two points.

"I was so proud of how the girls played," EHS head coach Lisa Craig said. "We were in the game the whole time. Just a couple of unforced errors less and we would have had the win. We played with out two starters due to illness and we missed them, but Lacey Hobbs and Lexi Mitchell stepped up and had very good games. Briley Lenkaitis and Emma Wargel had good games at the net and Emma and Lexie lead us in serving."

In the loss to Hamilton County, Lenkaitis, Hise and Wargel led the team in spikes, while Mitchell led the Eagles in serves.

Lenkaitis was 12-12 on spikes with 16 digs, while Wargel was 13-16 on spikes with two kills and one block. His was 8-10 on spikes with two kills and nine digs, while Hampton finished 10-10 on sets.

Pilkington had 12 digs, while Roberts finished with 11 digs. Hobbs was 5-6 on spikes with. Kill, while Mitchell was 7-7 on serves with seven points and 12 digs.
