Dinger Bats Team wins Grand Slam World Series

The 10u Southern Illinois Dinger Bats team capped off its season by winning the Grand Slam World Series in Panama City, Florida.

The Dinger Bats team went 6-0 in the week long tournament and beat (Louisiana) Crescent City Hooks 13-1, (Mississippi) Dirt Dawgs 18-1, (Alabama) Bombers 4-1 and (Austin Texas) Hill Country Reds 8-1 in the semifinals and 10-2 in the championship game.

In the Tournament, the Dinger Bats team averaged 10.33 runs scored in each game and allowed jut 1.33.

Also at the Grand Slam World Series in Panama City, Florida, the Dinger Bats Team won the skills competition.

In addition to the Grand Slam World Series, the Dinger Bats team won six tournaments this summer and got second in two others.

The Dinger Bats team was 38-3 on the season and in the last three years have gone 120-13.

The team is coached by Rostin Bergan, of Eldorado, along with Tom Roper and Bill True, of Marion.
