Eldorado picks up first win of the season

 Eldorado was only able to manufacture three hits in Tuesday's 6-0 Black Diamond Conference loss to Carmi-White County.

Bryant Byrd, Nolan Milligan and Kolton Oglesby each had singles for the Eagles.

Joe Mayberry took the loss on the mound, going 5 2/3 innings, allowing six runs on eight hits, while striking out three and walking three.

Eldorado 7, Hardin County 5

Kolton Oglesby tossed a four-hitter in helping Eldorado pick up its first win of the season, knocking off Hardin County 7-1 earlier this week.

Oglesby went the distance, striking out 14, while giving up just one run.

At the plate, the Eagles made the most of seven runs, hammering out seven hits on the day.

Oglesby helped out his cause on the mound by going 2-for-3 with two RBI on the day, while Joe Mayberry finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

Bryant Byrd, Jacob Traxler and Braden Unthank all had one hit. Byrd and Unthank both had an RBI and a run scored, while Kale Oglesby, Nolan Milligan and Traxler scored a run.

Eldorado is now 1-8 on the season and will play at Crab Orchard on Friday.

Herrin 11, Harrisburg 9

Herrin exploded for seven runs in the sixth inning and knock off Harrisburg 11-9 Tuesday in SIRR Ohio action.

Isaac Crabb took the loss for the Bulldogs. He surrendered seven runs on four hits over two innings.

Noah Boon started the game for Harrisburg. He went four innings, allowing four runs on four hits sand striking out three.

Harrisburg had eight hits in the game and led 9-8 in the bottom of the sixth inning when an errors scored two runs for the Tigers.

Will Gibbs, Will Holland and Easton Wallace all had multiple hits. Gibbs scored two runs, while Holland scored one run.

Dalton Lambert and Jack Martin each had one hit. Lambert drove in a pair of runs and scored one run, while Martin scored two runs and finished with an RBI.

Presley Gauch had an RBI and a run scored, while Carson Burtis finished with an RBI.

On Wednesday, Harrisburg dropped a 14-4 game to Mt. Vernon in five innings.

The Bulldogs were slated to be at West Frankfort Thursday and then will play three games in the Dinger Classic Tournament at Graves County High School in Mayfield, Ky., starting today (Friday) at 4 p.m. against Gosnell High School.

Gallatin County 12, Carrier Mills 2 (Game 1)

The Hawks used four pitchers in a 12-2 win over Carrier Mills earlier this week.

Garret Rushing and Robbie Prince combined to pitch three innings and give up no runs, while Audie Goebel gave up one run in one inning and and Nathan Shults gave up one run over two innings.

At the plate, Aaron Walters went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI and one run, while Garrett Rushing was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a pair of RBI. Wyatt Downen was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI, while Brock Seely was 2-for-3 with one run scored and one RBI.

Grant Bosaw, Robbie Prince, Drake Scherrer, Blake Seely, Nathan Shults and Grant Bosaw all had one hit. Bock and Blake Seely, along with Price and Shults all had an RBI.

Gallatin County 17, Carrier Mills 2 (Game Two)

The hit parade continued for the Hawks in their 17-2 win over Carrier Mills in Game Two.

Gage Disney, Aaron Walters and Garrett Rushing all had multiple hits, while Disney and Rushing drove in two runs, while both scoring a pair of runs. Walters scored three runs and finished with two RBI.

Brayden Capeheart, Will Henson, Colton Phillips, Wyatt Downen and Audie Goebel all had one hit.

Goebel, Downen and Prince all scored two runs, while Phillips, Henson and Capheart had a run scored and an RBI.

Nathan Shults scored a run and Blake Brown had a hit.

Hunter Artman went three innings on the mound, allowing two runs, while Blake Seely worked one inning.
