Bulldogs win two over weekend

The Harrisburg girls' soccer team improved to 6-1 with a pair of weekend wins.

On Saturday, the Bulldogs blanked Salem 9-0 at the Kaskaskia Shootout and Harrisburg knocked off Carterville 7-1 late last week.

In the win over Salem, Devin Butler scored three goals with three assists, while Savanna Hubbs scored two goals and finished with two assists. Lauren McDaniel also scored two goals, while Josie Drone and Jenny Buchanan scored one goal and finished with one assist.

Kerrigan Bush played goal and had two keeper saves.

On Thursday, in the 7-1 win over Carterville, Butler scored four goals and had an assist. Drone punched in two goals and had one assist, while McDaniel had a goal and assist.

Bush made three saves in goal for the Bulldogs.

Harrisburg was slated to host Carbondale Monday and will by at home against Massac County (today) Tuesday, starting at 5 p.m. The Bulldogs close out the week, playing in the Fralish Cup at Carbondale.
