Lady Vols sweep past Lincoln Trail

CARTERVILLE - The John A. Logan College softball team swept a doubleheader from Lincoln Trail College, 19-6 and 10-7, in Great Rivers Athletic Conference action Wednesday.

Sydney Levan took the win in the first game pitching four innings allowing only five hits.

Alyssa Wright came in to finish the game with one strikeout and two groundouts to help the Lady Vols.

Lexi Childers, Rebecca Moffett, and Taja Dedecker were all 3-for-4 at the plate in the first game, while Taylor Rogers, Lynnsay Wilson and Mikayla Chamness all hit home runs and combined for eight more hits. Sarah Aldridge had two hits as well.

Lincoln Trail jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second game, but Logan hurler Bailey Anderson fought to pick up the win as the Lady Vols pounded 11 hits behind her.

Logan was scheduled to play again Thursday at home against Southwestern Illinois, then traveil to Olney on Friday and Lincoln Trail on Saturday before visiting Rend Lake on Monday.
