Saulsberry, Attebury named to All-South Team

Harrisburg senior Isaiah Saulsberry and Eldorado senior Braden Attebury were two of 12 Class 2A Players to earn Southern Illinois Coaches Association All-South honors, which were released Tuesday.

Saulsberry and Attebury were joined on the 2A list by Du Quoin's Lamontay Daughtery, Anna-Jonesboro's Jake Parr and Chester's Keith Kiner. Pinckneyville put three players on the All-South team including, Grant Jausel, J.C. Moll and Dawson Yates, while Nashville and Carmi-White County each had two. The Hornets were represented by Bryson Bultman and Carson Parker, while the Bulldogs placed Travis Black and Tyler Siever on the team.

In Class 1A, the following players received All-South honors: Damarius Taylor (Cairo), Blake McKay (Woodlawn), Aquntez Penn (Elverado), Braden Webb and Tanner Dunn (Goreville), Jared Curry (Christopher), Braden Webb and Tanner Dunn (Goreville), Tyler Winchester and Lukas Gunter (Sesser-Valier), Luke Hensler and Payten Harre (Okawville) and Darnell Lowe and Ja'Quan Jones (Meridian).

In Class 3A, the Benton duo of Parker Williams and Gehrig Wynn, were joined by the Murphysboro duo of Jaron Gaston and Jeremy House, the Marion tandem of Justin Saddoris and Jaden Lacy, along with the Centralia duo of Javon Williams Jr. and Jordan Maines. Also representing 3A were, Isaiah Thompson (Massac County), Damond Crosby (Salem) and Zach Williams (Mt. Vernon).

Saulsberry has already earned All-Conference honors in the Ohio Division of the River-To-River Conference and closed out his career as the Bulldogs' all-time leading scorer with 1,900 points.

This past season, Saulsberry averaged 21.3 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game to go along with 2.7 assists per game.

Attebury was named Most Valuable Player of the BDC East Team and along with Saulsberry were both named to the Associated Press Class 2A All-State Second Team.

The Eagle senior forward averaged a double-double this past season with 17 points and 14 rebounds.
