Harrisburg rolls to win over Massac Co.

Matty Hawkins had 26 points and nine rebounds, while Jessica Hopson tossed in 14 points as Harrisburg rolled to a 65-42 win over Massac County Tuesday night at Davenport Gymnasium.

Prior to the start of the game, Hawkins and Lotte Miller were each presented with a game ball after surpassing the 1,000 point mark, which the two accomplished on the same night in the finals of the Lady Eagle Mid-Winter Classic.

Miller tacked on nine points for the Bulldogs, while Brook Meylor and Karsyn Davis each finished with five points. Madeline Rider flipped in four points and Alli Ferrell finished with two points.

Harrisburg shot 22-for-53 from the floor and went 4-of-26 from behind the arc, while knocking down 17-of-23 foul shots.

Harrisburg held the Patriots to just 18-of-54 shooting, which included a 4-for-13 mark from 3-popint range and 2-of-10 from the foul line.

The Bulldogs out rebounded the Patriots 34-26 and forced Massac County into 17 turnovers.

The Harrisburg junior varsity team lost 50-27, where Ferrell led the Bulldogs with eight points.
