Prep Girls Hoops: Eldorado earns double OT win over A-J

It took two overtimes, but in the end, a one-point 62-61 win over Anna-Jonesboro in the Harrisburg Invitational gave Eldorado its first win of the season.

The Eagles (1-2) were led by 22 points from Takiya Britton, while Paige Munds also finished in double figures with 16 points.

Lexie Mitchell netted nine points, while Rachel Stafford, Madison Newton and Jade Hise all scored seven points.

Anna-Jonesboro jumped out to an 18-12 first quarter lead, but EHS took a 23-22 lead into the locker. The back-and-forth game saw A-J lead 33-31 after three periods of play and both found themselves tied at 47 and 57 in the fourth and first overtime.

Eldorado went 24-for-35 from the foul line, while the Wildcats were 19-for-37

The Galatia High School girls' basketball team dropped a 48-36 game to Edwards County Tuesday night at the Hamilton County Tournament.

Kennedy Harris led the Bearcats (0-2) with a team-high 13 points and had four steals and five assists, while Jaedyn Beers scored seven points and pulled down seven rebounds. Kate Bond chipped in with six points, while Shianne Barker finished with five points. Mallory Mays tacked on three points and Madison Murphy flipped in a field goal.
